Since 1997, Anita’s training in prenatal care has encompassed both Acupuncture and Prenatal Massage.
Her work in Prenatal Acupuncture is especially helpful in relieving nausea and morning sickness, fatigue, anxiety, heartburn, body pains and swelling in hands and feet. For self-care between sessions, she enjoys teaching women gentle exercises and other pearls of wisdom to use at home for better sleep, pain relief and discomfort.
Over the past 18 years, Anita has had the honor to study with some of the world’s most renowned teachers in Prenatal Acupuncture, labor and delivery, Japanese style Acupuncture and Prenatal/Postpartum Massage.
In 2010, Anita completed a two year Sport Medicine Acupuncture course at The New England School of Acupuncture in Boston. This unique orthopedic approach deepened her understanding and treatment of various pain conditions including back and joint pain during pregnancy. As an Acupuncturist and Massage Therapist, she finds that combining acupuncture with massage works best to gently rebalance muscles, reduce pain and inflammation and keep you comfortable throughout your pregnancy.
Anita earned her Masters of Science Degree in Acupuncture from the New York College for Wholistic Health, Education and Research in December 2001 and became Nationally Board Certified in 2002 (NCCAOM). In 2001 she received her Post Graduate certification in Herbal Medicine at the Kanpo Institute of Medicine in London, England. After returning to New York City, Anita taught Japanese Acupuncture at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine and also served there as an Acupuncture Clinic Supervisor. In 1997 she graduated from The School of Massage Therapy at the New York College and also received her Prenatal/Postpartum Medical Massage Certification.
Anita is available to see clients at Mountain Midwifery Center and at her office in Centennial.
